About Us
Meet "The Stoneman"
Wayne Martin (a.k.a. “The Stoneman”) graduated from George Brown College in 1975, with a brick and stone mason diploma after completing a three year apprenticeship. He has enjoyed his trade in masonry ever since, and applied his experience towards creating and installing unique architectural stone concepts.
Family Owned & Operated
Wayne, Judith and family moved to Manitoulin Island in 1998 from the Muskoka’s. Wayne had created much in the way of stone fireplaces, flagstone walkways, patios etc. in homes and cottages in that area.

Chimney Installation & Sweeping
This is a service that we provide for anyone who is in need. It is a simple service that is needed by many to maintain the safety of you and your family. We also provide consultation and installation services for customer purchases.
Giftware
Stoneman produces a variety of sizes of inukshuks ranging from 2 inch to 10 inch. Larger sized upon special request. These make a perfect thank you gift for a guest speaker, host of a dinner party, or any corporate needs, as well as wedding presents. They are the perfect little friend to give to someone who has everything already.

The exterior beauty of your home can be appreciated with elegant landscaping from Stoneman.. Stone walkways and stair cases as well as patios and retaining walls of various shapes and sizes are produced on the customers’ property, in various settings and of a variety of stone materials.
Stone Fireplaces
The Stoneman specialises in custom built and designed stone fireplaces that are constructed of natural stone or cultured stone. These fireplaces are built in your home to suit your needs. They can be a small corner of your living room or a magnificent piece of art in the center of your great room. Fireplaces are an excellent source of heat that is fuelled by a renewable source of energy.
W.E.T.T Certified
We are Wood Energy Technology Trained (W.E.T.T.) certified to install factory made zero clearance fireplaces and wood stoves with insulated chimneys and fire place inserts.
We can also W.E.T.T. inspect your wood burning appliances for your insurance company needs.
Woodstove Backups & Installations
Woodstove Backups are a very popular product of the company. This is the masonry work that is under and behind a woodstove. It exemplifies the beauty of the stove and also provides a non combustible surface for the woodstove to sit on.
We do not have wood stoves in stock however we have a detailed information on various manufacturers that produce wood stoves. Once the customer has picked the appropriate stove for them, we will gladly order it for them or refer them to the appropriate place to order or see a show model
